Sometimes &#8220;heresy&#8221; is the name of a <strong>sin<\/strong>. More often, it is supposed to be a certain sort of <strong>belief<\/strong>, claim, or teaching.<\/p>\n<p>In this talk (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/aip16a8qt8euyoy\/Heretic%20-%205%201%2015.pdf?dl=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>), I outline <strong>four different Christian approaches<\/strong> to thinking about heretics and heresy &#8211; to dropping such <strong>&#8220;H-Bombs.&#8221;<\/strong> I call these approaches the Catholic, the typical Protestant, the &#8220;free&#8221; Protestant, and the apostolic.<\/p>\n<p>I spend the most time on the <strong>typical Protestant approach<\/strong>; in my view it is incomplete and not consistent with other things that Protestants want to allow.
