As Dale notes <a href=\"http:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/about-2\/\">here<\/a>, I am a lazy fellow. Or as I say, just as a thing is more noble and perfect, so\u00a0the\u00a0longer it takes to reach perfection. I am still working on a book I began in 1984, and perhaps I can use my time here to develop my ideas on that.<\/p>\n<p>My main interest is in the philosophical <strong>concept of reference<\/strong>, rather than theology, but reference underlies the phenomena of numerical identity and individuation, existence, truth, meaning, and the rest, most of which have a close connection with ideas about God and the Trinity.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Cartwright spells out the connection in a wonderful essay <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filosofia.unimi.it\/zucchi\/NuoviFile\/Cartwright-OnTheLogicalProblemOfTheTrinity.pdf\">here<\/a>. If<strong> theological terms<\/strong> like \u2018God\u2019, \u2018the Father\u2019 and \u2018the Son\u2019 have singular reference, and if the verb \u2018is\u2019 in statements like \u2018The Father is God\u2019 and \u2018The Son is God\u2019 functions like \u2018is identical with\u2019, and if number can only result from difference or non-identity, then we soon run into trouble.<\/p>\n<p>More later, this is by way of introduction.<\/p>\n<p>Ed of London<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dale Tuggy kindly set me up with an account here, so I will say a few words by way of introduction.
