(opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Trinity-Incarnation-Steven-Nemes\/dp\/1666773565\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Trinity and Incarnation: A Post-Catholic Theology.<\/a> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clearly the Jesus of the New Testament is supposed to be special, indeed, unique, and in <em>some <\/em>sense he must be &#8220;divine.&#8221; But in <em>what <\/em>sense, exactly? And what if anything does this have to do with God&#8217;s giving Jesus his spirit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Topics include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>whether the full deity of Christ is an <em>obvious <\/em>New Testament teaching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spirit Christology<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what Dr. Nemes calls the basic argument for Christ having two natures and how this compares to analyses given in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Jesus-Divine-Essential-Christian-Debates\/dp\/1946971804\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"my debate book, pp. 17-24 (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">my debate book, pp. 17-24<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>traditional <strong>partitive exegesis<\/strong> and Dr. Neme&#8217;s objections to this<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>whether only God (or only a divine Person) can <strong>forgive sins<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jesus as a &#8220;deified&#8221; human being<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the New Testament&#8217;s portrayals of Jesus as having various human limits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A trilemma based on the question: <strong>Exactly <em>who <\/em>did God the Father empower to forgive sins and to perform miracles?<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether a non-divine Jesus should be called &#8220;a mere man&#8221; and how this tradition originated in the 2nd Christian century.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ancient Dynamic Monarchians within the Christian mainstream.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Kenosis&#8221; and the modern suggestion that the Incarnate Christ, even though divine, nonetheless had to do miracles though the power of God&#8217;s Spirit, rather than using his own divine powers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Opera trinitatis ad extra indivisa sunt<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>divine simplicity and immutability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why <strong>John 3:13<\/strong> doesn&#8217;t presuppose Jesus&#8217;
