I then respond to <strong>some recent podcast episodes by Dr. William Lane Craig <a aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reasonablefaith.org\/media\/reasonable-faith-podcast\/trinitarianism-vs-unitarianism-part-one\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">here<\/a> and <a aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reasonablefaith.org\/media\/reasonable-faith-podcast\/trinitarianism-vs-unitarianism-part-two\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">here<\/a><\/strong>, where Craig is not engaging with <a aria-label=\"my arguments (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/bO7GeYKCx2Y?si=KRHDOSaq5Q4xZzv3&amp;t=1746\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">my arguments<\/a>, instead dismissing me as a fringe kook who can be safely ignored. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I note how quickly he jumps from the Trinity to the Incarnation, and I challenge him to explain why, on <em>biblical <\/em>grounds, a doctrine of the Trinity is <a aria-label=\"essential for Christianity (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/podcast-286-is-the-trinity-essential-three-views\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\"><em>essential <\/em>for Christianity<\/a>. I also point out some mistakes and misunderstandings, as well as his <strong>failure to engage<\/strong> with my <a aria-label=\"published critique of his Neo-Apollinarian christology (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ojs.uclouvain.be\/index.php\/theologica\/article\/view\/68363\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">published critique of his Neo-Apollinarian christology<\/a> and my views <a aria-label=\"on the fourth gospel (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/how-john-1-was-intelligible-in-the-first-century\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">on the fourth gospel<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity-1024x585.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44558\" style=\"width:427px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity-1024x585.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity-450x257.jpg 450w, https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity-768x439.jpg 768w, https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity-1536x878.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/transitivity-of-identity.jpg 1792w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We again revisit what Craig calls <strong>&#8220;the modern relation of identity&#8221;<\/strong> (really: <em>a modern understanding of<\/em> identity) and I point out what is now an area of agreement about the concept of <a aria-label=\"identity (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/identity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">identity<\/a>. Yet based on his recent remarks, Craig <strong>doesn&#8217;t understand<\/strong> what I think about the identity of God and the Father in the New Testament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I refute his <strong>recent allegation<\/strong> that <strong><em>no <\/em>New Testament scholar thinks<\/strong> that nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus taught to be fully divine; my counterexample is the famous and influential James Dunn. I then offer a few thoughts on his fallback objection that <em>the vast majority of<\/em> New Testament scholars would disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lastly, I respond to his brief <strong>argument from divine providence and the fourth gospel<\/strong>.
