You don&#8217;t often see <a title=\"Trinity Meme\" href=\"http:\/\/maryhomegirl.tumblr.com\/post\/75694066921\/the-only-non-heretical-explanation-of-the-trinity\" target=\"_blank\">one that&#8217;s about the Trinity<\/a>! (H\/T Tim Pawl on Facebook.)<\/p>\n<p>One could view this as a complaint, a mere lament at our cognitive ineptitude.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Or, possibly, one could view it as <em>superficially<\/em> a joke, but actually an assertion of <a title=\"Negative Mysterianism\" href=\"http:\/\/plato.stanford.edu\/entries\/trinity\/#NegMys\" target=\"_blank\">negative mysterianism<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">In practice, I think that stance is going to always include a policy of repeating the required words, but refusing (for the most part) to expand on what they may mean, on what claims are being made by them.\u00a0<\/span>We&#8217;ve <a title=\"post on mysterians in Dallas\" href=\"http:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/mysterians-at-work-in-dallas\/\" target=\"_blank\">discussed this before<\/a>.\u00a0Some of the old Polish Socinians had what I think is <a title=\"parrot post\" href=\"http:\/\/trinities.org\/blog\/quote-on-believing-what-you-dont-at-all-understand\/\" target=\"_blank\">a good objection to this stance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I love memes.
