Not only do they &#8220;use the social analogy&#8221; for the Trinity &#8211; that is, compare the Trinity to three humans &#8211; but they also, generally, affirm that the Trinity really does contain or consist of three <em>selves- <\/em>three beings capable of thought, action, and personal relationships.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Hasker's page at Huntington University\" href=\"https:\/\/www.huntington.edu\/Bible\/Faculty\/William-Hasker\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Hasker<\/a> did this <strong>before it was cool<\/strong>, in a 1970 article. This sort of view has been perhaps most famously explored by leading Christian philosopher and analytic theologian Richard Swinburne, in his 1994 <a title=\"The Christian God\" href=\"http:\/\/astore.amazon.com\/trinities-20\/detail\/0198235127\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Christian God<\/em><\/a>. Before 2013, I would&#8217;ve said that was <strong>the best developed &#8220;social&#8221; theory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s now been surpassed, by William Hasker&#8217;s 2013 <strong><a title=\"Metaphysics and the Tripersonal God\" href=\"http:\/\/astore.amazon.com\/trinities-20\/detail\/0199681511\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Metaphysics and the Tripersonal God<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.
